My external hard drive is a treasure trove of memory triggers. Old photographs, documents, screenshots, art project files, and yahoo/google-search-found-images, all temporarily forgotten but readily available when I choose to search deep within it. Every once in a while I’ll find something that surprises me. This one was not buried too deep, but since I’ve been thinking a lot about self portraiture these days, I wanted to repost it and give it another look. This is a self portrait I drew in 2005. I should get back to drawing again. There is a deep satisfaction in creating something by hand. Mind, to hand, to pencil, to paper.
