Wedding Photography: Who Are We? -&- FAQ

I just posted a new page with information to my website, in anticipation for new wedding photography bookings in the year to come, and thought I would share it all below.

WHO ARE WE?

☽ I AM…

… intense about my love of art, music, & Los Angeles history. When I’m not taking photographs for work or for play, you’ll find me watching a band play in a dark bar somewhere or strolling the streets of Los Angeles, thinking about the power of Place.

… a feminist, a small business owner, & the daughter of a Cuban-Chinese immigrant who came to the U.S. seeking a better tomorrow. To be a business owner, like my mother, brings me great pride.

… romantic, but not precious. I instinctively search for beauty, but desire meaning & functionality.

… earnest & focused, yet easily recognizes when to laugh at myself.

… mischievous & always in the mood for a good party (my favorite kinds are house parties and motel parties).

… someone who wants to link up with like-minded individuals who crave to make their wedding-day experience their own.

☼ YOU ARE…

… thoughtful, inclusive, empathetic, playful, & adventuresome.

… someone who likes to flip things on their head & do things your way.

… someone who appreciates beauty in wedding photography but ultimately craves the captured moment.

… someone who makes loving choices, whether it’s the choice to be rooted in family rituals or throw a wedding that’s re-invented by design, you believe weddings can be whatever you will them to be.

… moved by the creative world & values authentic photos that trigger feeling.

… likely exhausted from searching for a wedding photographer, only to find more of the same  —  until now.

LET’S LINK UP TODAY!

Siobhan & Ryan’s Port Costa School House Wedding (Sneak Peek)

September was a tireless month of travel and photo shoots, but the weekend of September 23rd I was surrounded by good friends and had the honor of photographing Ryan & Siobhan’s wedding in Port Costa, N. California. When I find myself this busy, I tell myself that I will sleep later, later, later, after all the photos are taken. Here’s a little sneak peek from their Port Costa school house wedding for now. Love you guys, look how young and alive you are. ❤️

Lauren & Jason’s San Francisco City Hall Elopement

This past June, Lauren and Jason flew me up to San Francisco to photograph their city hall elopement. It would be just the three of us (I love, love being the only witness), with Lauren and Jason planning a party later in the year with family and friends. We had such an epic day together, we sat in the car afterwards with joy-hangovers, completely beat, but grateful. I mean, at one point we had cheeseburgers and waffles at a diner overlooking a fog drenched ocean — I just can’t think of anything else that makes me smile more.

Mid-Wedding Season Breather

Wedding season is in full effect and I’ve been keepin’ it busy, keepin’ it real.

I thought I’d take this time to stop and wave my hand around. I have a moment to myself after shooting 4 weddings in 4 weekends, but without this mid-wedding season breather update, how would you know? I have to write this for myself as well. It’s easy to write off all this running around as a “blur”. But it was so much more than a “blur”. It was 4 weekends of traveling to 4 destinations to photograph 8 really wonderful people. Everyone has their own story, their own worlds, and I’m constantly thankful to be invited into the fold, at least just for a day.
