A Practical Wedding wrote such a great article about me on their blog last month! They really dug deep and even included my other photography work! Still have a few openings in my calendar left for 2020 weddings, and I’m also doing a free wedding giveaway too. ⚡️

ONE FREE WEDDING IN 2020 TO THE CHILD OF AN IMMIGRANT!

Images above: All taken in Havana, Cuba — 1. My grandmother (right) sits with my great aunt (left), with my mother on her lap, 2. my mother as a little girl, posed on a coffee table, 3. my grandfather, “Francisco” Lee.

I am offering free photography for one wedding to a person in a couple (or both) who was the child of an immigrant. The immigrant story is integral to my identity and I want to do my part to give back and honor that community, especially during such a divisive time in American history. My mother came to this country from Cuba in the 1970s with only a suitcase and the wish for a better tomorrow. Without a doubt, I am here today because of her dreams and determination. Everyday I think about the long journey that my mother took to leave the only home she knew and build a new life which ultimately gave me the privilege and opportunities I have now. I know she would be proud (rest in peace) if she knew that her daughter went on to own and operate her own business which aligns with her ideals, while also doing what she loves most: photography.

Allie & Naoki’s Prehistoric Forest Ceremony & Gathering in Los Angeles

Allie & Naoki planned a small ceremony with only family in attendance at the Los Angeles County Arboretum (@laarboretum) in Arcadia. I remember keenly how they both wandered for a few minutes in the 🌿Prehistoric Forest🌿 before deciding on the spot that felt right for their ceremony. They rounded out the day by inviting a small group of friends to celebrate with them at the Side Bar at Covell (@barcovell). Follow your instincts, and all will be how it should. ✨🌑✨

Cindy & Eric’s Joshua Tree National Park Elopement

We’re coming up on the 2 year anniversary of these two, and since this elopement has always been a favorite of mine, I thought I’d share it on the blog today. Cindy & Eric already had an upcoming wedding planned in the mid-west, where they were also relocating for Eric’s new job. But Joshua Tree was too special to them and they wanted to say good-bye their own way, so they decided to elope there on the down-low. It was just the two of them, an officiant, and me as their witness and photographer.

Barnes & Nobles’ Hillary Rodham Clinton Book Signing (L.A.)

Above image: Hillary extends a hand to the public who are in attendance for the ‘Hard Choices’ book signing event at Barnes & Noble (located in The Grove at the Farmers Market).

I was honored to be invited by Barnes & Noble to document the Hillary Rodham Clinton booking signing event for Hard Choices this past June. As you can maybe imagine, it was thrilling to be in the presence of such a monolithic figure, let alone to be given permission to point my camera at this iconic woman. The energy of the day was palpable as I witnessed her relentlessly sign hundreds of books, stopping to greet each and every invigorated person who came for the face-to-face encounter.
